End of Day

2020

Living next to the national forest, my last glimpse of the day is the setting sun that bathes the canyon.  It is an ending and a beginning.  During these months of Covid 19, this canyon has been my place of quarantine, but it has also been isolating.   Although filled with life, it is devoid of vital human interaction and community.  I am further reminded about the necessity of human touch, intimacy with friends and loved ones and the value of community engagement.  The global pandemic has further shown that all of us are connected in a global community.  The virus knows no geographic or cultural borders.  This photograph taken in late August distills my thoughts and hope for the future during these anxious times.  Light prevails on the other side of the darkness.
